Harmony is not limited only to music, but also to poems that have  rhymes and measurement.  Among the very numerous former Phoenician poets ones meets the lyric poet Meleager (140-70 av.J.C.) born at Gadara, city situated at the Lebano - Syrian border.  Meleager spent his entire life in Tyr during the 1st century B.C. He was expert in the Armenian and Phoenician languages, but he composed his poems in Greek, exhibiting thus the internationality of literature.  He was famous for his ability to compose small poems. Meleager was fond of adventures and fascinated by traveling, practicing this hobby he arrived to the island of Kos.  There he composed the biggest collection of poem that he named « IKLIL » that means the garland.
     In the Anthologia Graeca only 130 of its poems were preserved, and all are talking about love and gallantry. The most famous of his poems, is the one that describes seven very beautiful tyrian children, whom he compared to a garland of flowers that was composed of a beautiful lily, a white violet with a strong smell. a rose, a cluster of grapes in a form of a flower, a golden bunch of saffron, a bunch of thyme and an olive branch eternally green, he offered that poem to the goddess of love “Aphrodite”. The most important one of its writings was « I passed the cradle of my childhood in Tyre the city located by the sea, me Meleager son of « Eucratus », I grew with the poems and my first step was in company of the goddess of love ».
 « OH! You foreigner, we remain in one fatherland that is the world, are not we the humans sons of the chaos?  I wrote these lines in my old age before dying since the life and death are neighbors to each other. Only nothingness generated all the mortal ones. »
      Another of his famous writings engraved on his tomb:
 « Oh!!! You the foreigner advance in silence without noise, Meleager buried with the devout deaths and the pure chosen people rest here in an absolute silence. I passed my youth in the sacred Tyre between poetry, the tears of the beautiful love, and pleasant life.  If you are a Phoenician, I greet you, but if you are Greek, I am cheerful.  I implore you if you pass in front of this tomb repeat what you have read.  »
     Meleager met the universality of these two bouts, poetry and love; by this manner, it surpassed the limit of the universe.  Was Meleager the lyric poet  a universal Brother?
